Interview with Markus Mäki at PCGH.

German site PC Games Hardware has an interview with Remedy’s Director of Development, Markus Mäki. The interview answers some basic questions that weren’t known before such as Quad Cores will receive up to 30% of a performance gain and the official name of the Alan Wake engine is .. well just that. Who would have known?

One thing to clarify from this interview is that the title states “DX10 support still uncertain” which can be misread as it being unlikely that Remedy will support DX10. Remedy is keeping quiet about anything DX10 related but I’m sure we’ll start hearing more and more as time goes on. Another thing is that it seems a lot of gaming sites out there (*cough* Kotaku *cough) are for some reason thinking that Alan Wake being Vista exclusive is “news”, even though that’s been known since 2006.

Keep hangin’ in there everyone.

Still, I see good news in the rather soft phrase “it’s best to consider Alan Wake to be a Vista exclusive”. He’s not telling “Vista-only. Period.” That means they are evaluating options of using XP and have not fully decided yet :)

Good.

Just my thoughts, they’re being a bit cryptic…
