Alan Wake to be shown at GDC 2008?

Well according to Robbie Bach, President of Entertainment & Devices Division at Microsoft it is.

In a recent interview by Sith Gamer Robbie said this:

SG: One thing you talked about are the games- so far I think the 2008 year seems to be lacking. Especially when put up against the PS3 or Wii.
RB: Well were saving a lot of stuff for GDC, which is where we plan on showing off some big titles such as Halo Wars and Alan Wake.

Now I don’t know how accountable a site like Sith Gamer is, especially for a web blog hosted at wordpress.com, so take this with grain of salt for the time being. Also GDC is the Game Developer’s Conference held on the 18th to 22nd February this year.

Just keep your hopes up. Hopefully it gets shown at gdc but if it doesnt then just wait for E3, more likely to be shown then.

yeah, it will be shown at E3 for sure! ;) Remedy would’nt miss that oportunity.

couple more days and it will be shown at the GDC cant wait

well its here at the end of the week check youtube for new A.W. footage.

If there is any new official Alan Wake footage, it will most likely be shown on Alanwake.com or relayed to us here. Otherwise, a gaming publication will place it on their site. The chances of a new video suddenly appearing on youtube is slim, given the quality limitations - Remedy would want everything to look as good as it can ;)

Yeah I don’t think it’s likely that they will be showing anything personally. GDC isn’t the best outlet for someone showing off a game, it’s more for game developers not gamers.

Anyone notice Amazon is taking pre-orders for the XBox360 version and has a release date of 10-1-2008. Do we dare hope!

Further searching found the PC version with same release date. My order is in but I am still skeptical it has been a long 2+ years I have been waiting for this release.
