Wired.com recently interview Shane Kim, corporate vice president of Microsoft Game Studios. Shane talked about Alan Wake and what lies ahead and why they are holding back on releasing information about the game.

… “it is an ambitious, different kind of game. It’s exactly like the conversation we just had about Too Human. We’ve got to be careful about how we unveil that, right, so that we build on the excitement that people have and we don’t do any damage there. The good news is that it remains one of our most anticipated titles. Everybody’s asked me about it, which is awesome. Remedy’s a great partner for us. I think we’re going to have a huge hit on our hands.”

I have take this from a french xboxsite: http://www.xboxygen.com

He say that Alan Wake could not be necessarily realesed this year
Shane Kim has told that during an interview on MTV.
What do you think about that?

Life has taught me the value of pessimism, so I guess it won’t be out this year.

Well not necessarily doesn’t mean it won’t. I think they’re trying to cover just in case it doesn’t like they previously mentioned.

Like I mention all the time until Remedy start stating a release date its best to take all this releases lightly.

Actually, I think the reason the server is changing is because traffic is going to dramatically increase this week due to Alan Wake news from GDC. Hopefully!

What can we say? We were given a hosting offer we couldn’t refuse :P

Nibbles: The game will be ready for release when it is done. Remedy have their own personal targets for release, but still abide by the general rule that quality comes first.

Im not sure what microsoft is doing, but I think they should be pushing for Alan Wake’s release as soon as possible to help cope with loss of market share to the PS3. I will not be playing Alan Wake on the x360, but the PS3 is really going to crush the competition this year.
