In yesterday’s news Pelaaja said they would have more Alan Wake news later on this week and it seems they were right. They are releasing an interview with Sam Lake, Lead Writer on Alan Wake, in Podcast form on Friday at 2pm EEST.

The podcast interview will cover topics such as Alan Wake and how it’s development is progressing and the upcoming Max Payne movie.

We don’t know if the podcast will be in Finnish only but if it is hopefully one of our faithful readers can provide us with a transcript shortly afterwards.

After spending the last year wallowing in doubt and misery about the lack of Alan Wake updates… having 3 things come up in 1 week is absolutely amazing! I’ve gone from angry and frustrated to frothing at the mouth in anticipation.

I’ve listened to it and I can say that not much was revealed. One thing that is worth mentioning is the project is not ready yet for a hands-on time. Max Payne movie rights were sold before the first game even came out. There will be cinematics in Alan Wake, also Twin Peaks type of small town humor, but overall it’s still a thriller. Lot of different topics were covered, but not too much about Alan Wake. He talked about how the screenwriting process works and most of the time referred to Max Payne and Max Payne 2. He didn’t reveal any release target, but there’s definitely more done than there’s left to do. He feels helluva good about the project, it’s a small team, but there’s no lack of ambition and the quality requirements are very high.

I’ll do a full transcript in the following days, the interview is about 47 minutes, so it will take me some time.
