So the new trailer has been released and it’s filled to the brim with cool little things that you’ll miss if you blink. We haven’t scoured the whole trailer and we’re leaving that fun stuff to you to do in the comments here but here are some we found!

The Alan Wake cut-out

Alan Wake is a successful horror author so of course he’ll have promotional material out there. Especially a cardboard cut-out of himself promoting his new book! We thought this was pretty funny.

The Deerfest

In 2006 this site was called BrightFalls.com but due to a database failure and lack of time I had to give it up. After that I gave Remedy the domain name to use for whatever they wanted.

Well in the trailer at timestamp 00:14 there’s a sign showing a deer festival at Bright Falls and with a link to brightfalls.com.

Heading to brightfalls.com shows a pretty cute painting of a deer ;)

Alan Wake trailer impressions.

YouGamer.com have some great impressions of the Alan Wake trailer to tide you over until we get our hands on it. Not too long now! ;)

Photorealistic textures and constant play with light and shadows are still a big part as well. The town of Bright Falls seems to have also gained a ton of extra detail since the previous videos were published - it looks like a real town instead of a video game level!

Check out the rest of the impressions here.

Thanks Matze!

Max Payne Movie premiere pics.

We recently mentioned about a competition Remedy was running to be one of the first people to see the Max Payne movie and also to watch the movie along side the Remedy team.

Well one of the winners of that competition, Timi Pulkkinen, gracefully sent in some pictures of the event and we’re here to show them off to you.

Full credit should go to Timi’s brother, Jari Pulkkinen, who was the one who actually took the pictures. We thank you Jari.

For those wanting the Alan Wake trailer or expecting there to be pictures of the trailer in this post then unfortunately you’ll be a bit dissapointed. I have a funny feeling you won’t be waiting too long till you see it.

Win free tickets to Max Payne Movie premiere!

Want to go check out the Max Payne Movie premiere with the guys from Remedy sitting right next to you? Live in Finland?

Well Remedy are giving you the chance to be one of the first people in the world to check out the movie and what better way with the guys from Remedy to support you along for the ride!

Remedy are giving 7 lucky people a chance to join them for the advance screening and all you have to do is this:

Head over to the Alan Wake forums and register. Once you have done that check out this thread and read all the details. Once you have read everything then feel free to send a private message to Markus Maki or post in that thread (or both, increasing your chances!) and you’ll be in the running to win.

That’s it! Good luck to everyone and apologies to anyone overseas (like me) who aren’t eligible to enter.

1Up Interview with Sam Lake

Following on from the Pelaaja interview, Sam Lake has been interviewed by 1Up, offering an English language version of some of the previously discussed topics. There is also some further information on the development of Alan Wake.

“We think of Alan Wake as Alan Wake season one; the game is the DVD box of a season of a television series turned into a videogame. The experience is divided into episodes with cliffhanger endings and there is a supporting cast of characters around Wake himself.”
